Relief operations underway
Cyclone Idai hit the coast of Mozambique at its port city, Beira last week leaving a path of destruction in its wake. Reports are only now starting to trickle in, giving us an idea of the vastness of the devastation. Over a thousand lives have been lost with the likelihood of that number only rising over the next days and weeks. Hundreds of thousands of homes have been lost. Flood waters continue to rise as heavy rains continue to batter the region from Central Mozambique to Zimbabwe and Malawi.
The United Nations have declared this to be the worst weather disaster to have ever hit the southern hemisphere.
When situations like this occur, we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and the carriers of His Great Kingdom to the people who are suffering.
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Many aid groups and teams are on the ground, providing relief, support and comfort to those who are suffering in the aftermath of the storm, including Iris Global's Relief team. You can contact them, or send aid through them here.
We are also sending a team to help in the region in the next few days, as well as looking to buy supplies in South Africa which we can send up to help in the relief efforts.
We are all the hands and feet of Jesus to the suffering, and this must be a global effort. One member of the body cannot do this work alone. We all need to work together to bring Heaven to Earth and to the people who need Him right now, and so we are inviting you to become a part of this huge need in Central Mozambique.
We need your help. You can become a volunteer of the first response team via Iris Relief and come to Mozambique to be on the ground and help. You can send funds via them or us here. You can pray, intercede and cry out for the people of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi and all who have been affected.

Together, we can shine with the light of Christ into this dark situation and bring life, hope and Jesus to those who desperately need Him right now.
This situation is likely to affect the people of Mozambique for days, weeks and even years as they look to rebuild their lives. We want to help them right now, in the midst of the emergency, and also in the months to come when food will be scarce, homes will need to be rebuilt, and broken hearts will need to be ministered to.
Please consider partnering with us in any way you can.
